What it is
Blepharoplasty is an advanced eyelid surgery procedure that rejuvenates tired, hooded or baggy eyelids by removing or repositioning excess skin, muscle and fat from the upper and/or lower eyelids.
As part of eye aesthetics and oculoplastic surgery, blepharoplasty is designed to enhance the natural appearance of the eyes while maintaining facial balance and expression. For some patients, upper eyelid surgery may also help improve vision when excess eyelid skin obstructs the visual field.

The procedure
The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia, using carefully planned hidden incisions placed within the natural folds of the eyelid.
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is designed to rejuvenate the eye area by addressing excess skin, tissue and fat around the upper and lower eyelids. Incisions are strategically positioned within natural eyelid creases to help minimise visible scarring as the area heals.
For a more comprehensive eye rejuvenation, blepharoplasty may be combined with procedures such as a brow lift, minimally invasive facial procedures, or treatments for the surrounding eye area, depending on individual needs.

The result is a more youthful, rested appearance of the eyes, with softening of the wrinkle lines around them.
Most patients see their blepharoplasty results settle within four to six weeks, as swelling resolves and the natural, symmetrical eyelid fold takes shape.
