What it is
Facial rejuvenation with botulinum toxin is a popular non-surgical eye aesthetics and facial aesthetics treatment. Administered using a fine needle, results can become visible within about a week.
Rather than paralysing the muscles, botulinum toxin relaxes targeted muscles so the wrinkles they create appear softer. It can treat frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, lines around the mouth and facial spasms, and may be combined with dermal fillers for facial contouring and a more balanced, rejuvenated appearance.
The procedure
The injections are almost painless, as fine needles are used and a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied beforehand. Sessions take place in an outpatient clinic setting.
Botulinum toxin treatment should be performed by a qualified professional with thorough knowledge of facial anatomy and the distribution of blood vessels, ensuring precise placement, proper sterility and a safe approach.
